UBC & CIHR Skin Research Day

Each year the UBC Department of Dermatology and Skin Science and the CIHR Skin Research Training Centre host the Skin Research Day during which original papers on a variety of topics including skin cancer, hair, immunology, photobiology, genomics, wound healing and educational research are presented. The integration of multiple health profession groups (medical, nursing) and trainees at different levels is a major strength of this event.

The UBC & CIHR Skin Research Day is an interactive program that includes participation by medical students, graduate students, residents, fellows, nurses, scientists, clinical investigators, clinical research assistants, dermatologists and faculty in a highly collegial atmosphere.

The objectives of the Skin Research Day are:

  • To provide a forum for the discussion of new concepts in skin biology and their relevance to clinical care.
  • To review current concepts in cutaneous pathophysiology and therapy, and their application to clinical care.
  • To share knowledge through interactive group discussion pertaining to the interpretation and design of basic and clinical studies.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The 2015 UBC & CIHR Skin Research Day will be held on March 7, 2015 from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm in the Paetzold Auditorium at 899 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver.
